Confirmation of pension benefits for tax purposes

Each year, particularly between 1 January and 31 March, pensioners apply to the Social Security Agency for a confirmation of pension benefits paid for each month of the previous year. These confirmations are required from them by other institutions such as employers, the municipal authorities, the tax office, etc. In the current pandemic, we recommend applying for such a confirmation by telephone on the Social Security Agency freephone number (0800 123 123), electronically via the Question Form on the Social Security Agency’s website at, or by email to We recommend this form of communication as the safest in the current pandemic. The Social Security Agency will then send the confirmation by post to the pensioner’s home address. It is an ordinary letter delivered directly to the person’s postbox. If the pensioner has an active e-mailbox, the confirmation will be sent to this e-mailbox.
