Social Insurance Premium Rates valid as of January 1 2021
1) The minimum assessment basis for the period from January 1 2021 until December 31 2021 is determined for the compulsorily insured self -employed person and the voluntarily insured person in the amount of 50% of one twelfth of the general assessment basis for the calendar year preceding by two years the calendar year when the social insurance premium is paid, i.e. 546.00€. The minimum assessment basis for the employee is as of January 2010 not regulated for the purposes of social insurance; however, the employer is legally liable to remunerate the employee in compliance with legal provisions on the minimum wage.
2) The maximum assessment basis valid as of January 1 2021 until December 31 2021 is equal for all social insurance funds: sickness insurance, pension insurance, unemployment insurance, guarantee insurance, Reserve Fund of Solidarity (with the exception of accident insurance) representing the sum 7 644.00€
3) As of July 1, 2020 or February 1, 2021 or as of the day of re-acquisition the licence of the self- employed person or the licence to perform the activity, or as of the day of re-performing this activity according to the Declaration of Honour (in case of activities which can be performed without a licence) after these dates (in the period until June 30, 2021, or until September 30, 2021), the compulsory sickness and compulsory pension insurance commences to those self – employed persons whose income (without deducting expenses) earned in 2019 was higher than 12 –multiple of a minimum assessment basis valid in 2020 (12 x 506.50 = 6 078.00€), i.e. it is higher than 6 078.00€. As of July 1, 2021, or October 1, 2021 or as of the day of re-acquisition the licence of the self- employed person or the licence to perform the activity, or as of the day of re-performing this activity according to the Declaration of Honour (in activities which can be performed without a licence) after these dates (in the period until June 30, 2022 or until September 30, 2022), the compulsory sickness and compulsory pension insurance commences to those self –employed persons, whose income (without deducting expenses) was for the year 2020 higher than 12-multiple of the minimum assessment basis valid in 2021 (12 x 546.00 € = 6 552.00€), i.e. higher than 6 552.00€.
4) A person who is concurrently voluntarily sickness insured and voluntarily pension insured and voluntarily unemployment insured determines the assessment basis in legally established limits himself/herself. On condition the person pays premium to voluntary pension insurance, s/he is obliged to pay premium also to the Reserve Fund of Solidarity. A voluntarily sickness insured person, voluntarily pension insured person and voluntarily unemployment insured person can change the assessment basis at the earliest after elapsing 6 months from the latest determination of the assessment basis, which was done by this person, whereas the premium related to the changed assessment basis is due as of the first day of the calendar month following the month, in which the change in question was notified in writing to the Social Insurance Agency.
5) State pays premium for old age pension insurance, invalidity insurance and premium to the Reserve Fund of Solidarity on behalf of:
6) The uniform premium rate is established for accident insurance premium in the present amount. The employer pays the accident insurance premium representing 0.8% of the assessment basis of an employee.
7) To the total amount of premiums must be added the accident insurance premium, which is calculated from the actually achieved assessment basis of an employee, due to the fact that the assessment basis for the payment of accident insurance premium is not limited by the highest amount.
8) Premium for special social insurance for a municipal / city police officer, whose employment in the municipal / city police lasts, is paid by his / her employer, which is a municipality / city with an established municipal / city police.
9) To the total amount of the insurance premium in the case of the municipal / city police officer whose employment in the municipal / city police lasts is necessary to add the insurance premium for special social insurance. * Invalidity insurance premium is not paid by:
