How to apply for pain compensation
What is pain compensation?
Am I entitled to pain compensation?
If you have suffered an accident at work or an occupational disease, you are entitled to pain compensation if:
- you are an employee; or
- a person who is covered by the personal scope of accident insurance (see Persons Entitled under Accident Insurance (SK)).
Pain compensation is awarded to the injured party on the basis of a medical opinion in which the assessing doctor assesses pain on a scale as an injury caused by bodily harm as a result of an accident at work or an occupational disease, by its treatment or by remedying its consequences.
How do I apply for pain compensation?
You claim pain compensation by submitting an Application for Pain Compensation (SK) to a Social Insurance Agency branch. Do not forget to include a Medical assessment of your pain and diminished social function (SK) filled out in the section ‘A. Pain Evaluation’ by the assessing doctor (the doctor who last treated you regarding the damage to health).
For more information, see the ACCIDENT INSURANCE – PAIN COMPENSATION (SK) section.
