Have you decided as a Self-Employed Person (SEP/ in Slovak SZČO) to suspend or terminate the performance of your gainful activity? If you are compulsorily insured SEP/SZČO, your compulsory insurance will be terminated in this way. In certain cases, you are therefore obliged to notify the Social Insurance Agency of this fact.

Report suspension/termination of activity
How to proceed in case of suspension of activity?
When suspending the operation of a trade or the performance of an activity as a SEP/SZČO, proceed as follows:
suspension of compulsory insurance within 30 days from the suspension of trade or activity through the Natural Person Registration Form. (The printed form is also available in branches of the Social Insurance Agency).
as code 10.
until the day the insurance is suspended.
Send the Natural Person Registration Form - change to the Social Insurance Agency with the date on which you want to end the suspension, or resume your activity. Based on this, the Social Insurance Agency will reassess the existence of your compulsory insurance.
If you carry out an activity with the nature of a freelance profession, or you are an SEP/SZČO without authorization, you do not notify the Social Insurance Agency of the suspension of your activity! You are only required to notify the termination of your activity (see below).
How to proceed when terminating an activity?
Your duties depend on the nature of your activity:
If you are SEP/SZČO on the basis of a trade or other authorization, you are not obliged to notify the Social Insurance Agency of the termination of your activity. Your compulsory insurance ceases on the day you are no longer authorized to perform or operate an activity. You will be notified of the termination of compulsory insurance by the Social Insurance Agency.
If you are a SEP/SZČO without authorization, when terminating your activity proceed as follows:
- Notify the Social Insurance Agency of the termination of the activity through the Declaration of Honor of the SEP/SZČO without the Authorization of Non-Performance of the Activity (SK). This becomes legally effective from the day of its delivery to the Social Insurance Agency.
- If you have more authorizations, you will continue to be obliged to pay premiums for compulsory insurance. Your obligation to pay insurance premiums ceases only when the last authorization to perform or operate SEP/SZČO activities ceases.
