Compensation of treatment costs is a benefit provided under your employer’s accident insurance to compensate you for the costs of treating the consequences of an accident at work or an occupational disease. These are costs that cannot be covered by compulsory health insurance.

Am I entitled to compensation of treatment costs?
If you have suffered an accident at work or an occupational disease, you are entitled to compensation of treatment costs if:
- you are an employee; or
- a person who is covered by the personal scope of accident insurance (see Persons Entitled under Accident Insurance (SK)).
You are entitled to compensation of treatment costs if they have been incurred for the purposes of treating an accident at work or an occupational disease following the advice of a specialist physician, and these costs are not covered by compulsory health insurance according to a review doctor’s opinion.
How do I apply for compensation of treatment costs?
You can apply for this benefit by submitting an Application for Compensation of Treatment Costs (SK) to a branch of the Social Insurance Agency.
